History Lesson

A dream that began in the early 1990's has inspired the pursue of a bigger ambition. It started off from the coast of Medewi, situated in the west part of Bali island, where the founding father had a vision of 'Hujan Dollar' or 'Dollar Rain'. It was when tourism has just begun to flourish on the island, especially for a surfing destination as the Medewi coast at that time was famous amongst both the local and international surfers. Then, Medewi Beach Cottages were established. A small remarkable resort that later became the pioneer of everything which made the family started to enter the hospitality industry and hotel business.

In 2004, the tourism of Bali grew even more prosperous. By then, the famous destination became Kuta beach, even until now. This made the family to move the business focus and invested in a land nearby the Ngurah Rai International Airport, not far from the beach. The following year, the first hotel was open, known as The Vira Bali Hotel.

In 2015 the business was reconstructed under PT. Vira Jaya Angkasa or VJA Enterprise. Within 2016 until 2018, the hotel business and management had been completely transformed professionally. The hotel went under major transformations, refurbished and born anew. It became The Vira Bali Boutique Hotel & Suite.

The company persistently expanded the business and diversified the assets from land acquisitions and sourcing of new property developments, remodeling the business under PT. Karya Dwi Setia. The expansion includes a new hotel identity along with F&B, properties, and other investments in automotive and creative industry. The company has been growing and spreading its wings towards other regions of Indonesia, mainly Bali, Semarang, Kudus, Ungaran, Bandungan and Jakarta.

Company Values - The Four Keys

AWAN - derived from Bahasa Indonesia which translates to 'cloud'.
It reflects our philosophy towards the company values, which consists of four pillars.

AWAN - a cloud, would provide safety and shelter upon the surfaces of the earth wherever it goes. The silhouettes offer coolness on a sunny day and bring the rain that freshen the land. With such a simple task, it gives an example of how in everyday life, it should be effortless to offer shade and shelter towards everything. Be it other people, animal, and the environment. To be able of giving, without expecting in return.

AWAN - a cloud, has various shapes and sizes that follows the direction of the wind. They gather and form a large cloud, together travelling the sky. This shows an example of how unity is the key to create a large unit, to dream big and go far. Unity in diversity, to work together toward success.

AWAN - a cloud, may seem tiny from where we stand, looking at them so far above. It looks smaller than a house, but in reality a cloud is much, much bigger than a house. An illustration on how not to judge something based only on what the eyes can see, as perspectives may deceive. Have attitude and integrity.

AWAN - a cloud, begun its journey from the ground and work its way up. It starts from the particles of water vapours that swarms the air, forming a cloud in the sky. Which when it rains, it washes the land again, back to the ground. They voyage the earth, but then leaves the throne of the sky. A characteristic that is humble, not forgetting one's origin, and giving back what one has gained.
